Super ego

" In the world of the human psyche, praising the "positive" activities of the super-ego is sort of like praising the Mafia for keeping the streets safe, or crediting those Muscovite thugs who patrol the parks with keeping the peace, conveniently overlooking their tendency to relish beating people up and extract exhorbitant payments for their services."

So my super-ego has a number of complaints, my problem is sorting out what is reasonable and what isn't. Though, in essence, the super-ego cannot be 'reasonable' it is not in its nature.

So how do I deal with this?  Not sure yet.

Kindness

What would it take, what would it be like to actually embody kindness
on a daily basis?

This is worth thinking about.

"Self-nature...

...complete and clear,
Like the moon in the water.
The mind in meditation, like the sky,
Ten thousand miles without a cloud"

"The purpose of therapy, Freud said..."

"...was to take neurotic individuals and return them to an ordinary level of unhappiness. The purpose of meditation is to take you from that ordinary level of unhappiness to a place where there is no unhappiness and no suffering."

Sustainable passion

how do I make my passions sustainable? How do I say "I really want to
concentrate and develop this" and make that a lasting commitment?

How do I do this?
