Travel writing and Google maps

I'm reading a wonderful travel book: 'River of White Nights - A Siberian Travel Odyssey' by Jeffrey Tayler

The great thing about reading travel books these days is one can follow the journey on Google maps.  Even better, other people have posted photos that help give context to the mapping.

At the moment I'm in Nyuya, on the banks of the river Lena in Republic of Sakha, Siberia.

Here's a picture of the place.

Bacon sarnie: 9/10, coffee: 7/10.  The cafe itself is a delight, a spacious, old fashioned place. Great stuff!

Mmmmm, this was most tasty and loved the little salady thing on the side.  8 out of 10!
